Germany, Ecuador to Cooperate on Transportation Projects

Ecuador and Germany on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in transportation, construction, housing and urban development in Ecuador. The pact between the two nations was announced in Quito by Ecuadorian Production Minister Richard Espinosa, and German Deputy Minister of Transportation Rainer Bomba.

The agreement expressed the interest of both countries in advancing the implementation and management of an Integrated Transport System and the application of new technologies in the construction of a modern transportation infrastructure in Ecuador, including the development of city/metro and interprovincial rail systems, airports and ports.Mountain Railway

The memorandum also highlights Ecuador’s interest to learn from German expertise in the use of solar energy in rural areas.

“We are completely impressed and satisfied that Ecuador has not only beauty but also that the country’s macroeconomic figures have extraordinary conditions for a promising future not only in Latin America but worldwide. The German government is very interested in contributing to the development of these fields in Ecuador, “said Bomba.

Deputy Minister Bomba, who has now visited Ecuador twice, was accompanied by a delegation of German businessmen belonging to the logistics, engineering and technology, construction and urban development industries.
